Determining the Mean Absolute Deviation

Students must understand that the mean absolute deviation describes the dispersion or spread of data. Students should be able to find the mean from a given set of data. Students will need to find the average of a set of numbers then subtract each number from that mean and average the absolute value of those numbers. 

Example

The table shows the number of contacts six people each have stored in their cell phone.
