Differentiate between Transformations

T.i.P.S.

Lightbulb
Students must use their knowledge of the different transformations to determine which transformations are always congruent and which are not. Transformations include rotations, reflections, translations, and dilations. Students must understand that rotations, reflections, and translations preserve congruence but dilations do not unless the scale factor is one.

Example

A transformation is applied to a figure to create a new figure. Which transformation does not preserve congruence? Justify your thinking.
