Data Analysis & Graphing

In Kindergarten

Previously in Kindergarten, students collected, sorted, and organized data into two or three categories, and used this data to create real-object and picture graphs. Students also drew conclusions from these graphs.

In First Grade

First grade students continue to collect, sort, and organize data up to three categories, and use this data to create picture and bar-type graphs. Students draw conclusions and generate questions and answers from these graphs.

In Second Grade

Next school year in second grade, students will write and solve one-step addition and subtraction word problems using data represented in pictograph and bar graphs as well as expand the sorting of data up to four categories. Students continue to draw conclusion from pictograph and bar graphs and make predictions from these graphs.
