Geometry
In Kindergarten
Previously in Kindergarten, students classified and sorted a variety of regular and irregular two-dimensional figures and three-dimensional solids, and compared two objects using a common measurable attribute. Students also identified two-dimensional shapes and three-dimensional solids and components and attributes of each type of shape and solid.
In First Grade
First grade students identify two-dimensional shapes and three-dimensional solids as well as classify and sort regular and irregular two-dimensional shapes based on attributes. Students will also create new two-dimensional figures and shapes by joining figures.
In Second Grade
In second grade, students will classify and sort three-dimensional solids and polygons as well as create two-dimensional shapes and three-dimensional solids. Students will also decompose two-dimensional shapes.
