Describing Length
T.I.P.S.
The student must be able to describe the length of an object to the nearest whole unit using a number and a unit. Students must also be able to explain and justify their mathematical ideas and solutions.
Example
Trey and Tate both measured a new pencil with their color tiles. Trey said it was about 8 color tiles in length. Tate said it was only 7 color tiles. Who was correct and how do you know?
