Multiplying by 10 or 100
T.i.P.S.
Students must be able to determine the product of a number and 10 or a number and 100. They will do this using and their understanding of place value.
Example
Brizza told Tiandre that she could find the product of 394 and 10 (or even 100) without actually multiplying, but Tiandre didn’t believe her. Use the distributive and commutative properties of multiplication to show Tiandre why Brizza was correct.
