Comparing & Ordering Decimals to the Hundredths
T.I.P.S.
Students must be able to compare decimal numbers, place those numbers in a specified order (least to greatest or greatest to least), and use representations (such as those using the symbols >, <, or =) to organize, record, and communicate mathematical ideas.
Example
Compare 3.4 and 3.15 using the correct inequality symbol. Explain your thinking and your solution using a place value chart and a vertical number line.
