Representing Decimals & Fractions on a Number Line
T.I.P.S.
Students must be able to take fractions and represent them as distances from zero on a number line. They must be able to do the same idea with decimals to the tenths or hundredths.
Example
Maribel walked seven-tenths of a mile from her house to school. Show that distance on the first number line below as a fraction and as a decimal and explain your thinking.
