Creating Two-dimensional Shapes

T.I.P.S.

Lightbulb

Students will draw or make two-dimensional shapes such as circles, triangles, squares, and rectangles from materials such as toothpicks, straws, string, clay, chenille sticks, etc. as well as through the use of technology. Students should remember that orientation, size, color, and texture are not attributes that identify a two-dimensional figure. Vocabulary students should use to create circles, triangles, squares, and rectangles include sides, edges, corners, and vertices.
