T.I.P.S.

Lightbulb

Students should recall their prior experience telling time to the hour and the half-hour in first grade to now tell time to the minute. Students should be able to write and tell time to the nearest minute using analog or digital clocks. They must be able to distinguish between a.m. and p.m. as well as use language such as morning, dusk, sunrise, etc. to distinguish between these two times.

Example

The clocks below show the times that Randy started and finished computer class one morning.

Example

  a) Which digital clock below shows a time when Randy was in computer class?

Example

    b) Which digital clock shows a time when Randy was not in computer class? Explain your thinking.
