Determining Liquid Volume or Weight Using Appropriate Units & Tools
T.I.P.S.
Students will determine the capacity or weight using metric and customary units of measure. Mass is not the same as weight.
Example
Ben has a summer job working for a painter. One of his assignments is to transfer leftover paint from large 5-gallon buckets to smaller 1-gallon cans to keep the paint fresh. The painter had parts of several large buckets of red paint left from a bunch of different jobs. Determine to the nearest gallon how much paint was left.
