Students must be able to solve a word problem that requires them to share equal parts of an object such as a candy bar or bag of stickers.
Example
Emma wants to give an equal amount of stickers to each of her 3 friends. Draw a picture on your paper to show the fractional amount each of the 3 friends will receive. How do you know your picture is correct?
