Students will look at bivariate data and make predictions from a trend line, also known as a line of best fit. The trend line closely follows the path of points passing through as many as possible with about half the remaining points both above and below the line.
Mr. Hernandez made a table to show the relationship between the number of absences a student has in his class and the student’s final exam score. Create a scatterplot and draw in a trend line for the data. What is a good approximation for a score a student would receive if he/she missed 5 days of school?
