  • Lightbulb The student must be able to divide shapes into two and four equal parts. Students must be able to solve equal sharing problems arising in everyday life and describe the shares using the words halves, fourths, and quarters and the phrases half of, fourth of, and quarter of. 

Example

  • Four friends want to share this pizza. On your own paper, draw lines to show how the friends could cut the pizza into equal pieces. Explain your example and describe the part each friend would eat.
